課程概述 |
This course focuses on aspects of oral expression which contribute to fluency in English.
We will explore techniques to improve our performance in spoken English, including pronunciation and intonation,
grammar, and vocabulary in English among other topics.
The first semester is a review of oral skills; the second semester focuses
more on the topic of conversation |
課程目標 |
By the end of the academic year we will have:
1. Discussed the interplay between pronunciation and intonation in oral
communication;
2. Developed individualized vocabulary lists which reflect each student's
needs in English (including
awareness of register);
3. Analyzed and discussed oral communication in English and the techniques
to improve it
4. Applied the above components to context-rich situations;
5. Discussed language learning strategies; and
6. Analyzed our participation in conversations from an interpersonal
communication perspective
