Course Description:
This course is designed to expose students to the works of major playwrights in the tradition of the Western theatre. More attention is paid to the Western theatre after Henrik Ibsen, with an emphasis on modern classics in the first term and more contemporary plays in the second term. Students will explore a selection of dramatic pieces varied in their styles and appeals, yet each promising an intriguing dramatic experience of it’s own.
Course Requirements:
1. participation in class discussions
2. midterm and final examinations
3. creating a script
4. working in a group and producing a scene at the A-V Center Theatre
(For the completion of a term project, choose between 3 and 4.)
