課程概述 |
This section of Oral Training II broadly follows the syllabae of most other Oral Training II sections; that is, this course will offer student-centered performance activities throughout the course. No textbook is used in this section. Instead, we will begin with “warm-up” speaking activities before progressing after a few weeks to lectures on written preparation for professional speaking engagements as well as tips on oral communication and presentation skills. After these lectures, students will, both individually and in small groups, work on public speaking, professional presentation, and, if the class has made enough progress, eventually to debate. Students will be critiqued throughout the course; many performances themselves will be graded, obviating the need for either a midterm or final for either of the two semesters of this course. Strict attendance and class participation standards will be applied when grading. |
