課程概述 |
This course is designed to improve the English ability of the students through literary appreciation and various language-training practices. One literary work will be chosen as the major text (Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller for the Fall term of 2014); topics on current social and cultural issues will be brought into class discussion to stimulate a back-and-forth collaborative leaning process. All the lectures and discussions will be conducted in English. |

Goals:
1. To help students to analyze and appreciate English literary works
2. To facilitate students to articulate their ideas in English
3. To engage students in intellectual debate and critical thinking

課程要求 |
1. Punctual attendance and active participation
2. Class presentations (15 minutes each) on a voluntary basis
3. Mid-term performance (15 minutes for a group of four students)
4. Final examination
