課程概述 |
This course is designed for undergraduate junior or senior students. Students are expected to establish the fundamental research capability through step-by-step training and the completion of a research topic through literature survey, reading, research planning, experimental design, data analysis, discussions, presentations, research reports writing, etc. For junior students, the training starts with learning mid-level computer programming skills, and then followed by practicing how to integrate hardware and software into a complete mechatronic system. When students are equipped with both basic theoretical background and hand-on experiences, principles of signal processing and image processing will be introduced so to inspire students to a more focused area and apply these technologies in mechatronics systems. Senior students have to choose a bio-mechatronic related research topic for an in-depth study of the topic. Establishment of students’ capability of independent study is emphasized. Through weekly face-to-face discussion and progress report or presentation, students are guided with research methods to reach their research goal. At the end of the scholar year, the research should be completed and a research report is written. |
