課程概述 |
The course offers students
various guided writing
experiences based on an
inquiry-format of learning
where actual writing of news
stories, interviews, surveys,
radio drama, essays,short
stories and movie reviews are
complemented by a study of
principles of writing, as
well as writing procedures,
techniques and devices.

課程目標 |
The course aims to raise
students’ awareness of
writing aspects, sentence-
structural variety and
rhetorical modes (e.g.
narration, description) and
creative writing genres). |
課程要求 |
Students are expected to
complete the following
writing pieces at the end of
the course: news stories,
interviews, surveys, radio,
drama and academic and non-
academic essays. They are
also expected to review one
or two of their peers’
writing pieces and make an
oral presentation of the
procedures and results of the
review. |

In order to prepare yourself for the performances, you need to complete some homework regularly during the course. These homework are reviewed in class, revised and collected at the end of the course. |

Peer review |
20% |
Throughout the course, you will be working with a partner with whom you will gather feedback and comments on your writing pieces. The final peer review you complete at the end of the semester will be assessed. |

Oral presentation |
20% |
The oral presentation includes your feedback and comments on your peer’s two writing pieces. The presentation includes the reviewer’s comments on the final draft that develops from them, as a model of a specific writing genre for a specific audience (e.g. children, young teens, teenagers, parents, developing language teachers). |
