課程概述

*本課程以英語授課

This writing course helps first-year students develop fundamental English composition skills for academic work. We will cover the basic building blocks of writing, such as vocabulary and grammar, and focus on the techniques involved in the different stages of the writing process. The course will begin with the mechanics of paragraph-writing, and then go on to look at how to write different types of articles, such as narrative, descriptive, and analytical essays. Students will work in groups to discuss reading materials and review each other’s writings.

 

課程目標


Students can expect to acquire the competence to use words in appropriate contexts and to write coherent paragraphs and cogent essays. The ultimate goal is to give students the ability to think logically and critically while expressing their thoughts in authentic English.  
課程要求
Students are required to keep a hand-written vocabulary journal.
There will be four writing assignments: one paragraph and three essays.
