This course aims to help students develop English listening and speaking skills in an academic setting. In each week, three students will each give an individual presentation on a topic of their choice, introducing to the class useful words & phrases found in the article or speech s/he chooses. Toward the end of the semester, students will need to make group presentations on topics that are covered during the term. Apart from the aforementioned individual presentations, class activities in each week will include group discussions/role plays and listening & note-taking exercises. Listening and discussion strategies will also be introduced. It is hoped that, by the end of the semester, students will have acquired English skills that are necessary for daily communication and college study.
