課程概述 |
This course aims to stimulate the proficiency of using English for various purposes among non-English majors. It also helps students look into cultural nuances in different English-speaking countries. By adopting the interactive mode of Q & A, the instructor builds up a friendly and nourishing atmosphere of learning. In the meantime, students are guided to develop and organize their thoughts of timed writing and oral presentation in accordance with the methodological process of reading, listening and speaking. |
課程目標 |
1. Students will learn current issues in western societies.
2. Students will enlarge their vocabulary and the number of phrases for the discussion of certain issue.
3. Students will learn the basic elements of reading and writing (reasoning logic, topic sentence, concluding statement, supporting details, outlining, summarizing, paraphrasing, etc.)
4. Students will improve their pronunciations and phrasings when working out oral presentations. |
