課程概述 |
This course is designed to enhance students' oral communication skills in EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) settings. It focuses on developing fluency, accuracy, and confidence through speaking drills, role-plays, and structured discussions on academic topics. The course aims to prepare participants to effectively engage in English-speaking academic environments where English is the primary language of instruction.
Through regular feedback and peer evaluation, students will gain insights into their communication strengths and areas for improvement. The course also includes practical strategies for enhancing active listening, which are essential for participating in dynamic classroom discussions and collaborative projects in EMI settings. |

課程目標 |
By the end of this course, students are expected to:
1. Develop greater fluency and confidence in spoken English for academic settings;
2. Improve accuracy in grammar, vocabulary usage, and pronunciation in real-time discussions;
3. Effectively participate in and lead structured discussions and group activities;
4. Enhance listening and response skills to engage with diverse perspectives and complex ideas;
5. Articulate arguments clearly; and
6. Build strategies to perform effectively in EMI classroom discussions and presentations. |

課程要求 |
This course requires active participation and engagement from students. Students are expected to attend all classes and actively participate in class activities, such as discussions, presentations, and group work. In addition, students are also expected to practice their oral skills outside of class, such as by engaging in conversations with (native) English speakers. Students are also expected to complete all assignments on time. Finally, students should be open to feedback and constructive criticism from the instructor and their peers in order to continue to develop their oral communication skills. |
