課程概述 |
Course Description:
Recognizing that conflict prevention, violence elimination and peacebuilding cannot succeed if half the population is excluded, this course surveys the diverse and international aspects of gender as they relate to conflict, violence, and peacekeeping. It takes a critical look at the concepts of peace and security as operationalized in daily life and armed conflict- related situations. The course also encompasses a practical dimension in which we will explore some major concerns raised in the Taiwanese context.

Course Objectives:
Students will
*have an exposure to theoretical as well as field-based knowledge on the gender dimensions of conflict, violence, peace and security.
*assess the possibilities of engendering, from a power dynamics perspective, notions of sustainable peace and human security in challenging discourses
*further their understanding of the principles and practices of human rights and gender equality in the contemporary international community
