課程概述

Latin II is a continuation of Latin I. As such, we will start with reviews and finish with the grammar you have not yet seen. For the second half of the class, we will start with two introductory texts, typical of Latin II, that is, Cicero's Second Oration Against Verres and Caesar's Gallic Wars. Through these two texts, we will cement your knowledge of grammar and explore aspects of Roman political life in the turbulent time that was the end of the republic. 

課程目標
 The aim of the course is primarily to develop your reading abilities and translation skills as such I expect you to
1) Increase your working vocabulary
2) Improve your knowledge of Grammar in context
3) Develop a sense of an author's prose
4) Craft a proper and conscientious translation of basic Latin prose texts
5) Get a sense for the historical and cultural life of the Late Republic.
