Course Description
The course aims at introducing feminist utopian fictions for students and highlighting feminine awareness, development, and relationships in literary works so as to draw students’ attention especially when it comes to translation activity. Multimodal analysis of translated texts, images, and subtitling is adopted to further enrich the discussion of translation issues in classroom.

Course Objectives
In this course, students are going to read feminist literary works and apply the theoretical models introduced earlier to discuss and analyze their translated versions published in Mainland China and Taiwan, as well as other adaptations such as images, TV series or movies. Besides class discussion, students need to translate the assigned passages, or video clips from the original by different approaches. By the end of the semester, students are required to present their own translations of feminist utopian novels, along with comments and approaches.
