課程目標 |
A major aim of this course is to help students transition from high school English to college/academic English. Thus, the course will guide students to engage with texts that lead to awareness of global issues and critical thinking ability. Based on these texts, there will also be opportunities for academic listening, discussion, and presentation. A textbook will be used for this component of the course. Another goal of the course is to enhance students’ familiarity with listening and speaking for general purposes. This includes the ability to understand and enact the multimodal nature of human communication, which will be emphasized and practiced throughout the semester. Handouts will be distributed in class for this component of the course. The medium of instruction for this course is English. |
