課程概述 |
This course seeks to enhance English proficiency in listening, reading, writing and speaking with the goal of orienting students towards academic studies. In this semester, each session will be devoted to both listening and reading. This course also offers writing sessions to cover fundamentals of paragraph writing. Meanwhile, students will have abundant opportunities for practicing English speaking, in classroom discussions, and group presentations. Peer collaboration and in-class activities are vital to the learning process. Students will constantly work with other group partners in class activities |
課程目標 |
By the end of this semester, students are expected to develop a habit of drawing on authentic English materials in listening and reading and acquire the ability to further learn other academic subject matters in an English-only environment. Students will learn basic skills of academic English in reading, note-taking, paragraph-writing, and oral presentations. |
課程要求 |
1. Attend the class on time and collaborate with classmates in class activities.
2. Hand in the written assignments on time. Late assignments will be subject to point reduction.
3. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
4. Students who miss more than 9 hours will not be allowed to take the final exam. You are encouraged to avoid chronic lateness. Anyone who misses more than one hour of the class will be counted as absent half a time.
