課程概述 |
Designed to guide students to understand how they can be personally and intellectually involved in mastering upper-intermediate skills of English, this course seeks to enhance English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing with the goal of orienting students towards academic studies in an English-only environment. The designated textbook will provide a major framework for activities of reading, listening and speaking. In addition, students are required to undertake three writing assignments and a major group presentation.
Students will receive substantial help from the class TA in prepping the oral presentation. Throughout the semester, the course also offers writing sessions to cover fundamentals of paragraph writing. Meanwhile, peer collaboration and in-class activities are vital to the learning process. Students will constantly work with other group partners in writing workshops and in-class activities.

By the end of this course, students will obtain a good practice of oral delivery and develop a habit of drawing on authentic English materials in listening and reading. |
課程要求 |
Requirements:
1. Attend the class on time and collaborate with classmates in class activities.
2. Participate in the TA session before the oral presentation.
3. Hand in the written assignments on time. Late assignments will be subject to point reduction.
4. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
5. Students who miss more than 9 hours will not be allowed to take the final exam.
