課程概述 |
Course Description:
As a course focused on a major American writer, this course will explore the fiction of Mark Twain Students will read, discuss, and write about a selection of Twain’s short stories and three of his novels:,Pudd’nhead Wilson, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Students will analyze the themes of these works and the literary artistry through which Twain develops these themes. Students will consider the historical, biographical, and cultural contexts for Twain’s work. |

Course Objectives:
Students will identify, describe, and compare the literary features of a variety of fictional techniques Twain developed as a 19th-century American literary artist. 2) Students will evaluate how perspective and background inform the reading experience. 3)Students will conduct research and apply a range of literary theories and critical perspectives through close readings and analysis. 4) Students will articulate critical positions and interpretations. |
課程要求 |
Requirements:
three short (4-5 page) essays, one group presentation, sharing of literature in non-academic settings, regular attendance, Mid-term and Final Exams. |
