Each student is expected to read the assignments before class, attend every class, and participate in both in-class discussions and group discussions. There will be pre-lecture quizzes, which consist of 2 simple yes-no questions. These are designed to test whether you have read the assignments the lectures are about. There will be several group discussion and presentation sessions to provide a chance to articulate your own views. There will be two exams, consisting of several short essays. Exam essays should focus on showing your own philosophical assessment and argument about a given view. |
