課程概述 |
Basic Design an exploration of creativity as expressed in the visual and performing arts. Emphasis is on student’s consideration and development of their own personal aesthetic values within the performing framework. Attendance at cultural events, exhibition, as well as individual or group projects may be required. |
課程目標 |
1 To investigate the nature of the creative process and its value to society.
2 To define the basic elements of each art form studied, to explain the relationship between form and content.
3 To define art through discussion of selected influential theories of the arts and through interpretation of selected critical evaluations.
4 To demonstrate the importance of the arts through discussion of how they affirm and reflect values or how they prefigure value changes in society.
5 To develop skills of observation and apply critical criteria to the arts, and to examine the type of active involvement necessary for the viewer to appreciate a work.
6 To distinguish each art form and to discover commonalties among various disciplines.
7 To develop both verbal and written skills when discussing the arts.
8 To demonstrate how an effective theme is expressed through a selected medium.
9 To become more aware of the opportunities available to participate in the arts (local resources).
10 To inspire greater interest and appreciation of the visual and performing arts.

課程要求 |
Students are expected to come to class on time, prepared and ready to participate. Excessive absences will have an impact on the “Class Attendance and Participation” portion of the grade. I should be contacted in the event of illness or other major difficulty. Students missing class are responsible for obtaining course materials covered during that section. Those students who leave at break will be counted absent for the entire day. |
