This semester of Advanced English aims to equip graduate students with the skills required to present scholarly work at international venues. These skills include writing abstracts, drafting proposals, compiling bibliographies, and moderating and speaking at conferences. Beyond those pragmatic concerns, the course will introduce students to various genres of literature in the western tradition and diverse modes of literary criticism as it is practiced today.
