The aim of this course is to introduce the concept of narrative and the study of narratology in a broader scope which includes both literary texts and non-literary texts. Narratology is the theory of narratives, narrative texts, images, spectacles, events and cultural artifact that tell a story. Stories appear in every human society and through the reading and telling of stories we enrich our experiences, relieve conflicts, and reinforce values.
