課程概述 |
The main aim of this course is to introduce the most famous manifestations of the Spanish Pop (and Glamour) Culture in a broad sense (mass culture). During the first part of the semester the most classical issues of pop culture will be address, while in the second part we will focus in the so-called glamour manifestations. The course will include also references to the Spanish political system as a way of understanding the political background of culture.
|
課程目標 |
Since this is a language course, the content will based in some adapted materials taken from newspapers presenting in a critical way some manifestations of Spanish culture from 1975 to the present, emphasising the informal aspects that hardly have a reference in the canonical understanding of culture. The materials of the course will be read and discussed during the class. Students’ participation is expected, especially through debates after the different chapters. Additionally, two formal presentations in Spanish of 10 minutes each should be done, either about one of the topics of the syllabus or about any other topic that the student is interested in. Both presentations should be about the same topic. The first one will be descriptive, while the second one discursive (reaching a conclusion by comparison). It is advised to compare the Spanish pop topic with the equivalent or similar Taiwanese one. The first one should be presented within a Power Point format, while for the second one it is encouraged to use Movie Maker format (it is not difficult to learn, but time consuming).
Note: The syllabus below can be modified according to changing circumstances or unexpected events: interest of the students, cultural changes in Spanish politics or society along the semester, Spanish exhibits in Taiwan, etc. |
課程要求 |
To have studied Spanish II in NTU, or to have a good command of Spanish similar to the level B1 of the European Common Frame of Reference, regardless how it was acquired. |
