課程概述 |
本課程邀請修課同學從比較哲學的角度,審視儒家哲學的特點。課程首先介紹比較哲學的目的、價值,以及方法論上的困難。其次再依照專題,帶領同學閱讀英文學術界中較具代表性學者的作品。這些作品涵蓋了:自我的概念、德性理論、關懷倫理、禮的概念、情感的作用、正義論、人權觀等議題。藉由探討儒家與西方哲學在這些議題上的異同,使同學逐漸熟悉比較哲學領域的研究動態。此外,本課程也鼓勵同學從比較的角度,擴展自身哲思與研究的廣度。課程以學生報告和討論為主,教師講課為輔。 |
課程目標 |
課程結束之後,修課的同學預期能夠:
1. 清楚說明比較哲學的目的、方法、價值和困難。
2. 具體掌握和公允評估英文世界中,中西比較哲學的研究動態。
3. 從比較哲學的角度,拓展自身研究課題的深度和廣度。
4. 透過持續練習,逐步增進英文學術閱讀能力。

課程要求 |
1. 每週課前繳交750-1500字對於閱讀材料的摘要、分析,和評論。
2. 依實際修課人數,每人負責約三次、每次約20分鐘的課堂報告。
3. 每位同學都需要積極參與課堂討論。
4. 於第11週繳交期末報告的計畫書。
5. 期末報告的內容和形式,在與授課教師個別面談、商議之後,依同學的研究興趣和需求而定。
