課程概述 |
藉由閱讀相關的著作,本課程帶領同學逐步熟悉當代英文學術世界中儒家倫理學的幾種主要研究典範,包括道德普遍主義(moral universalism)、德性倫理學(virtue ethics)、角色倫理學(role ethics)、楷模倫理學(exemplarism)、以及關懷倫理學(care ethics)等五個主要取徑,以及相關的論辯。主要目的,在引領同學去思考儒家倫理學具有的特質,試圖回答這樣一個基本卻又困難的核心問題:「儒家倫理學到底是什麼?」(What is Confucian Ethics?) 藉由邀請同學對此問題進行思考,本課程試圖開拓同學的研究視野,銜接上國際學術研究的較新動態,然後再以此為基礎,幫助同學發展出關於儒家倫理學的新問題意識。 |
課程目標 |
修課的同學將能夠:
1. 清楚了解當代英文世界中儒家倫理學研究的新動態。
2. 以該研究動態為參照,省視、調整自身研究的定位、方法,與方向。
3. 逐步且確實地精進英文學術閱讀能力。 |
