課程概述 |
都市是跨國思潮與政治經濟力量匯聚的節點，也經常是文化創新的孕育之所，研究當代都市的人類學作品，除了接續民族誌的細描傳統之外，也勢必得與現代性、跨國主義、空間生產、文化揉雜等理論議題對話，並且在知識論與方法論層次上，針對當代田野的性質，進行開拓性的反思與探索。本課程是都市人類學的進階課，這學期將閱讀五本出版於2000年之後的都市民族誌，分別以舊金山、聖地牙哥(智利)、曼谷、開羅、昆明等五個城市中不同的階級群體為例，檢視席捲各地社會的全球化經濟變遷，如何重新模塑現代都市的空間形構與市民生活，又激發出什麼樣的衝突、聯結、與行動？

1. 了解當代民族誌的範型趨勢。
2. 了解全球城市中的分化、爭議、與文化再生。

課程要求 |
本課程等同於小型讀書會，需要所有成員的共同參與方能順利進行。每次上課由指定同學先做口頭摘要以引發接續討論，但除了負責報告的同學之外，其他修課同學都必須完成每次的指定讀物閱讀，並且在上課討論之中積極發言。
作業一：每週輪值報告的同學需要撰寫兩頁的摘要，請在上課之前印出講義紙本與大家分享。非輪值的同學，請擇選閱讀內容中最精采的段落，撰寫半頁心得，並提出至少一個可供討論的問題。這部份的作業不單獨評分，只要你完成並準時上傳每週的閱讀心得，就可得到滿分。
作業二：請選擇三本課堂討論過的民族誌，分別撰寫各2頁的讀書報告，除了摘要說明本書的主要議題與研究設計之外，並請簡要評述本書在相關領域中的重要性、作者的書寫風格、可能的延伸發展、以及與台灣城市的相關性。
作業三：在學期結束一週之內，請繳交一份五千字左右的期末報告，就本學期的指定書籍作一綜合評述。
