課程概述 |
This course is designed to socialize students into the Dept. of LIS at NTU, including the familiarity with the campus resources, master/PhD graduation requirements, faculty members and research interests, as well as with study opportunities available at the Dept. of LIS. The course provides an overview to studies and practices in the field of library and information science, including its major themes, as well as the services in the memory institutions.

課程目標 |
At the conclusion of this class, students will be able to
♣ provide an overview to studies and practices in the field of library and information science
♣ explore the careers of information professionals, including but not limited to librarians and archivists.
♣ examine major conceptual frameworks for LIS practice and theory: the information lifecycle, information infrastructure, intellectual freedom, information organization, and the growth of data science.
♣ articulate components of building an ideal research paper for a graduate student, and apply those into their term paper. |
