課程概述

This graduate-level seminar course will familiarize you with the major theoretical approaches in Social Informatics (SI) research. SI is an interdisciplinary field that examines the design, uses, and consequences of information & communication technologies (ICTs) and that takes into account ICTs’ interaction with institutional and cultural contexts. 

課程目標
The objectives of the course include the following:
1.Introduce you to issues, debates, and research approaches in the current ICTs/SI studies.
2.Familiarize you with the major social theories contributing to SI research.
3.Develop your critical thinking abilities in appraising ICTs discourses including popular accounts as well as serious research literatures.
4.Develop your ability in doing theory informed research.
