課程概述

詮釋資料(metadata)簡言之,即由資源中抽取用來說明其特徵及內容的結構化資訊,藉此用於組織、管理、保存與檢索資源。本課程之重點,在引導同學瞭解詮釋資料之意義、類型、功用與相關技術(如:RDF、XML等),對各類詮釋資料之格式與相關規範能有基本認識,並能明白詮釋資料互通轉換的意義與作法。藉由小組實作,幫助同學掌握設計、應用、與評估詮釋資料的相關原則與方法。 

課程目標
希望修習本課程的同學,能對下列議題有基本認識:
. 詮釋資料之意義、類型與功用
. 詮釋資料之相關標準或規範(如:content standards, structure standards, value standards, encoding standards, etc.)
. 與詮釋資料實務有關之技術,如:RDF、XML、XML Schema、Linked data等
. 各類型之主要metadata schemas (如:DC, CDWA, VRA, EAD, MODS, etc.)
. Metadata schema之設計與建置(如:element sets, value space, application profiles, encoding schemas, metadata records, etc.)
. Metadata harvesting and aggregating / Metadata services
. 詮釋資料互通性
. 詮釋資料品質評估與相關問題
 
課程要求
. 準時出席上課是同學應有的基本學習態度,凡點名不到,每次扣學期總成績2分。
. 作業請依規定時間準時繳交,每遲交一日,扣該次作業成績五分。
