課程概述 |
User experience has evolved as a new area of Human Computer Interaction research, and is taken as critical element that bridge the system design and the user performance. User Behaviour Research (LIS8025) explores the design process for user experience and engagement, which expands the traditional concept of usability and utility in design to include aesthetics, fun and excitement.
The course starts by reviewing the trends and issues of UX/UI research, followed by an introduction of the methodological design of user behavior research, and finally concludes by conducting a research project with preliminary results. Examples of designs and design treatments are given to illustrate principles and advice, accompanied by critical reflection.
This course adopts the format of blended learning in order to ensure and enhance students’ engagement and performance in this methodology-oriented curriculum. Sufficient time and guiding resources will be provided in a corresponding schedule for students to construct the fundamental concepts and knowledge of user behavior research. Online class meetings, consultancy and discussions will be available on the course website for students to monitor and work on the capstone projects. |

User Behavior Research (LIS8025) develops doctoral students the knowledge and skills to conduct user study. Students who complete the course learning are expected to master the,
1. Knowledge for the fundamental user experience concepts and theories
2. Knowledge of the current state of research methods and technology of user experience
3. Knowledge of the core process, instrumentation, tools and technologies of user studies
4. Practical techniques of observation, prototyping and evaluation |
課程要求 |
Students are required to complete a research project of user behaviour.
Participation in class discussion is valued. |
