課程概述

本課程將介紹重要的亞美劇作家及其作品。課程中將閱讀與討論十二部劇作、亞美劇場史，以及一些相關的論文。
This course introduces major Asian American playwrights and their works. In the course, we will read and discuss twelve plays, several essays, and an historical review of Asian American theatre, and view two relevant productions.
 

課程目標
 透過閱讀亞美劇作，本課程探討亞裔美人在美國的生存處境，在其獨特的歷史脈絡下，討論亞裔美人身分族群認同、以及身為弱勢的反抗掙扎等議題。
The course examines how Asian American negotiates issues of identity formation, ethnicity and nationalism, and minority struggle within the historical context.
 
課程要求
 同學要事先預習當週的進度，並積極參與課堂討論。不得無故缺席。
Attendance is mandatory. There will be students’ personal presentations on the reading and a final paper. Participation in the class discussion is expected, and therefore preview of the readings is required.
