課程概述 |
It will be introduced the history of Buddhist arts and cultures spread in wide South (the original and Theravada Buddhism), Central (Mahayana Buddhism) and Southeast Asia (Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism) including Tibet (Vajrayana Buddhism) by showing of architectures, sculptures and paintings. |

課程目標 |
Buddhism was born in India and spread in wide area. By this historical fact, it is cleat Buddhism is not a religion of certain country. Unfortunately this basic knowledge of Buddhism is not familiar in Taiwan. Therefore the target of this course is basic understanding of the Buddhist arts and culture as a global religion. |

課程要求 |
The course will be lectured in English. Students who will attend in this course are required basic geographical knowledge of these Asian areas by English, such as name of countries, dynasties and monuments of World Cultural Heritage. |

Standard of evaluation:
thinking based on own experience/feeling: high
using quotation of other knowledge/information: low
Writing in A4 paper 1-2 pages by English or Chinese
All name of places, country, capital, large city, large river/island and persons should be wrote in English.
exp. 中南半島: -5 point, 亞洲/印度/佛陀: -1 point
Indochina Peninsula, Asia/India/Buddha: OK
The question of term paper will be announced in June 8th (the deadline: June 22nd)
