課程概述	語言與文化關係密切，一直以來都是人文學科、社會學科、以及心理學科關切的焦點之一。本課程擬由研讀相關經典文獻開始，透過語言學的角度與方法，由語言現象探討社會及文化議題。將會依修課同學的研究興趣搭配一些期刊論文來討論，比如Journal of cross-cultural psychology的論文等等。本課程有先修課程的規定。
課程目標	透過課程中的探討，期盼修課同學得以利用最生活化的工具──語言，觀察社會現象，掌握社會脈動，並以語言分析社會文化議題。
課程要求	出席率、作業、課堂討論、口頭報告及期末書面報告出席率 20% 作業 10% 課堂討論、口頭報告 30% 期末書面報告 40%
