課程概述 |
Speech perception and production encompass and prioritize different modalities by nature. Therefore, the key to decode the processes between speech perception and production comes to multi-modal interaction. Building on the knowledge of acoustic and articulatory phonetics, this course aims to explore how speech perception is affected by the production system and how speech production may be shaped by the perception processes.
This course an intermediate to advanced course for graduate-level students. |
課程目標 |
This course is designed as the first half of a year-long project. In this semester, students are expected to acquire a thorough understanding of physiological mechanisms and human articulatory system for speech perception and production. Throughout the course, students will also familiarize themselves with experimental designs, equipment and data processing. By the end of the semester, students should submit a research proposal, which they will turn into a conference or journal paper in the following semester. |
