Ultrasonic imaging technology nowadays provides an easy and non-invasive way to measure and analyze the dynamics of various body parts. In particular, this imaging technique has been applied in linguistics and speech sciences with a rapid growth of interests. This offered course aims to provide a general introduction to ultrasonography used in linguistic research and to offer opportunities for researchers to collect first-hand data, which can beneficially be applied to language fieldwork.
Pre-requisites
To officially enroll, the student must have fulfilled the pre-requisites requirements. Enrolling students must have earned credits from one of the following courses:
1. Introduction to phonetics
2. Speech behaviours and speech sciences
3. Other phonetic courses acknowledged by the instructor of this course
