課程概述

本課程是為外籍生開授之英語授課課程,屬於臺灣研究學程之一門,也局部開放本地生修習。

在台灣這塊土地上,音樂一直伴隨著人們生活的脈動而記錄了台灣社會經歷的各個階段。
不論是原住民的各個族群,或先後來到的福佬、客家、外省族群,音樂都在他們的生活中扮演了不可或缺的角色。

台灣各族群有些什麼樣的音樂和戲曲?音樂和戲曲在他們生活中扮演了什麼樣的重要角色?
歐美及日本的外來音樂傳入台灣後,與台灣社會產生了什麼樣的互動?
音樂與台灣的社會、政治、經濟、文化的脈動是如何緊緊相扣?
音樂如何反應了台灣社會的過去和現在甚至預示未來?

本課程將以上述幾個問題作為課程設計的基礎,先從各族群的音樂出發,接著再看跨族群的洋樂和流行音樂,希望充分利用目前本校已有的資源,課程進行方式將包括講課、有聲資料的課上和課外聆聽、特別來賓的示範講演和同學的實際操作,配合文學院和藝文中心舉辦之各項音樂演出以及校外教學,加上同學們對生活周遭之音樂活動的觀察和田野調查。透過上述方式,希望能讓學生認識臺灣音樂的不同樂種及其文化脈絡,了解音樂與臺灣社會的密切關係,培養寬廣音樂觀,意識到音樂與人的重要關係。
 

課程目標
本課程的進度設計將大致沿著台灣社會的時代脈動,從各族群的音樂出發、接著再看跨族群的洋樂和流行音樂,希望藉此讓同學對於台灣音樂與社會的互動有深一層的了解,也透過音樂對於台灣多一份認識。 
課程要求
學生必須經常到非同步教學網站聆聽聆賞教材;參與文學院和藝文中心的音樂會活動,並撰寫心得報告;閱讀每週指定之閱讀教材,並在課堂參與討論;分組進行期末報告題目之挑選,並進行田野調查,最後在課堂口頭報告,並繳交書面報告。
