課程概述 |
This course offers an introduction to some of the fundamental principles and methodologies of research in historical musicology. Among the topics covered are editing, historiography, and the "new" musicology. |
課程目標 |
to promote critical awareness of central issues and concerns of historical musicology; to develop skill in important methodologies of the field |
課程要求 |
Class meetings will focus on discussions of readings. A short response paper of approximately one page on the assigned reading must be submitted each week. A final paper of approximately five pages, critically discussing the application of a major issue in this course to your present or future research, will be due at the end of the half-semester.
