課程概述 |
This course will examine historical recordings of Taiwan music from the 1920s to the early 1980s. Historical recordings here refer to both commercial records as well as field recordings. Students will listen to these recordings, learn about how Taiwan music has evolved or changed over the decades, practice transcription and analysis of the recordings, and explore various ways to study historical recordings and musical change. |

2. to familiarize students with the various genres of Taiwan music and how they have evolved in relation to Taiwan's history
3. to explore issues involved in studying historical recordings |
