課程概述 |
This is a course in sight translation team taught by Damien Fan and Darryl Sterk. In the first half of the course Damien will introduce you to EC sight translation; in the second Darryl Sterk will introduce you to CE sight translation. |

課程目標 |
1. To improve student ability to "oralize" written texts.
2. To practice public speaking, including self-presentation.
3. To learn basic syntactic and "communicative" analysis or interpretation. |

課程要求 |
(Note, these are preliminary objectives that will apply in Darryl Sterk's half of the course)
1. Practice the assigned texts before class.
2. Produce a transcript of the test with which we will end each class. Correct your errors in pairs.
3. Keep a practice log.
4. Take charge one week: 1) select a set of texts on a topic, 2) with your instructor's assistance write an "oral" sight translation of the material we will practice in class as well as the selection we use as the test. |
