課程概述 |
This course builds on Introduction to Simultaneous Interpreting and introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of interpreting from English into Chinese. Students will learn to analyze English audio input more critically and strategically, convert the message into Chinese, and deliver in an idiomatic and effective way. Subject matters are also introduced incrementally. |

課程目標 |
1. Be able to talk about assigned topics in idiomatic and educated Chinese.
2. Be able to critically analyze the English input, grasp the kernel idea, and restructure the English message to facilitate Chinese construction.
3. Be able to formulate the Chinese rendition by synthesizing relevant information and accessing existing knowledge.
4. Be able to deliver the interpretation in a polished manner while being aware of other requirements for effective communication.

課程要求 |
Students should keep themselves abreast with current affairs. They are also required to practice on a constant basis and keep a detailed practice log that documents their progress and reflections. |
