課程概述 |
This course is designed to introduce students to the interdisciplinary field of interpreting studies, with a focus on the key research approaches and methodologies commonly employed in the discipline.
A case study approach is adopted to illustrate how research questions in interpreting studies are operationalized and addressed using appropriate research methods.
Teaching and learning activities include assigned readings of essential research papers on interpreting studies, answering guiding questions on worksheets, interactive lectures, and in-class discussions on guiding questions.
The medium of instruction is English. |

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
‧ Critically evaluate a range of research methods used in interpreting studies.
‧ Effectively select and apply appropriate research approaches to their own projects. |

課程要求 |
As this is an intensive course with dense course content on interpreting research, it is best suited for students who plan to embark on their research and thesis writing on interpreting-related topics in the following semester. |
