This is a calculus-based introductory physics course. This course provides a thorough introduction to the principles and methods of physics for students who have good preparation in physics and mathematics. Calculus will be present in lecture and homework, and problem-solving in the course involves both quantitative and conceptual reasoning. Topics for the first semester include position, velocity, acceleration, force, Newton’s laws of motion, gravitation, work, energy, torque, wave, fluid, and thermodynamics.
