課程概述 |
一.教學內容: 將盡量依教科書章節順序上課;尤其強調下列各子題:
0. Introductory remarks:mid term; final exams; and other hourly
exam in place of home works, questions inside/outside of
classroom; attendances;
1. Vector and scalars; motion in 2 & 3 dimensions; relative
coordinates, relative motion; forces and motion; Newton’s laws
of motion; frictional motion; uniform circular motion; relative
coordinates;
2. Kinetic energy and work; work done by variable forces;
potential energy; conservative forces; System of particles;
center of mass; linear momentum; conservation of linear
momentum; motion of rocket;
3. Collisions; elastic and in-elastic; reactions and decay
processes; Rotations; translation/rotation; angular
displacements versus angular vectors; rotational (moment of)
inertia; the parallel—axis theorem; kinetic energy of
rotation; torques;
4. Rolling: rotation and translation combined; angular momentum;
of a rigid body; of a system of particles; about a fixed axis;
conservation laws;
5. Gravitational force/potential energy; of a spherical
shell/solid sphere; Kepler’s laws; law of orbits; satellites;
Einstein and gravitation;
6. Fluids; Archimedes’ principle; ideal fluid; Bernoulli
principle/equation;
7. Oscillations; simple harmonic motion (SHM); pendulum; laws of
superpositions; damped SHM; forced oscillations; Resonance;
Waves; traveling waves/standing waves; Fourier analysis; sound
waves; Doppler effect;
8. Temperature, heat thermodynamics; heat and work; first law of
thermodynamics; adiabatic processes; free expansions; kinetic
theory of gases; mean free path; equipartition of energy;
Maxwell-Boltzmann speed distribution; ideal gases; heat engine;
Carnot cycle; specific heat; entropy and second law of
thermodynamics; ideal heat engine and ideal refrigerators;
(Time permitting, may cover the portion of the following chapters)
9. Electric charges; Coulomb’s law; electric fields of point
