課程概述 |
The course is designed to provide attended students a fundamental
understanding in (i) the basic design and operating principles of some modern instruments used in electroanalytical methods, chemical analysis, specifically separations, optical spectroscopy, analytical mass spectrometry, material characterization and surface analysis techniques, (ii) the basics of experimental design, and (iii) how to design experiments using these instruments to solve problems in chemical analysis. |

Enrollment:
Only compulsory students (biotechnology, agricultural chemistry, forestry) will be automatically admitted in the preliminary selection stage. This course is administered by the Dept. of Chemistry. Authorization codes are controlled and issued online, so the students cannot ask the teacher directly for the code.
Students who have not selected the course in the pre-stage but wish to enroll, please follow these steps: 1) make sure you meet the prerequisite (https://nol2.aca.ntu.edu.tw/nol/coursesearch/print_pre_course.php?course_id=203%20211B2&lang=EN). 2) Download, print, fill out, and send https://www.ch.ntu.edu.tw/edoc/download/form?u=1877f8f9-473d-4d3f-a0c6-817525a7594e to Dr. Stephen Griffith (stegriff@ntu.edu.tw) for approval and instructor’s signature. 3) Send electronic copies of the signed document and your transcript to Ms. Ching-Hsien YU (chyu@ntu.edu.tw) in the Dept. of Chemistry Office. An authorization code will be sent to the student’s mailbox.
Important points:
1) Please make sure your email address in the NTU Cool system is correct so that you may receive notifications in a timely manner.
2) Homework: all homework will be submitted through the Cengage e-learning platform. Homework questions will be selected every Friday night, and due two weeks later before 11pm that day. Scores for this part of the assessment will be based on your 7 best homework scores.
3) Calculator regulations in the classroom / examination room are as follows:
(i) We follow the National Examination list of acceptable calculators
(ii) Following models may be used

CFX-82ES, FX-85ES, FX-350ES, FX-500ES, FX-991ES, FX-570ES, FX-82MS, FX350MS, FX85MS, FX-95MS, FX-100MS, FX-115MS, FX-570MS, FX-991MS, FX-992S (Note: FX-991ES PLUS and FX-350ES PLUS are also allowed as their only differences over the base models are irrelevant for this course)

F-502G, F-604, F-715S
(iii) Calculators with programming and data storage functions (e.g. Casio FX-3650P, FX-4500PA, FX-5500LA, FX-7400G PLUS, CFX-9850GB, CFX-9850GC, FX-4800P, FX-5000F, FX-50F, Texas Instruments TI-84) or similar 3C products are prohibited; please do not bring them into the examination venue. If a student is unsure if their calculator is an allowed model, they may send a message to the TA for clarification.
(iv) Although calculators listed in 4(ii) are allowed, answers to the examination questions must still describe the solution in detail. If the process is correct but the answer incorrect, partial points will be awarded. If the answer is correct, but the process is incorrect, again only partial credit will be available.
