1. Carbohydrate: fundamental coverage (terminology and biological functions)
2. Carbohydrate: glycan-binding proteins and medical applications
3. Carbohydrate: protection chemistry
4. Carbohydrate: glycosylation
5. Protein: fundamental coverage (structure, sequence analysis, etc)
6. Protein: solid phase peptide synthesis
7. Protein: enzyme kinetics, catalytic mechanism
8. Nucleic acid: fundamental coverage (structure, sequence analysis, etc)
9. Nucleic acid: synthesis (solid phase synthesis, PCR)
10. Nucleic acid: Recombinant DNA technology
11. Special topic 1: Combinatorial synthesis and High throughput screening (optional)
12. Special topic 2: Specific cell imaging (FRET, GFP, Click chemistry-based method)
13. Special topic 3: protein-protein interaction
14. Special topic 4: Activity-based probes
15. Student presentations
Evaluations (in color red): (1) Written exam on Dec 12, (2) Oral, group presentations on Dec 29–Jan 9 (papers will be assigned). |
