課程概述 |
This course will introduce the theory and the application of the GNSS methods for studying both tectonic and non-tectonic deformations. The material of this course will cover the skills and techniques of processing and modelling the GNSS time-series data collected from the campaign and continues GNSS monitoring networks.
The content of this course includes:
(1) The basics of GPS/GNSS
(2) Estimating station velocity from GNSS observations
(3) Stress and Strain
(4) Surface deformation in Earthquake Cycles
(5) Surface deformation related to non-tectonic motions and potential applications

課程目標 |
(1) To help students to understand the basic concept of GPS/GNSS system and their application in researches related to crustal deformation.
(2) To help students develop their skills on the programming software operations, and applying their knowledge from Geology to the real case analysis.

課程要求 |
Students who participate in the course will be graded on the basis of the following three items:
(1) Class performance
(2) Homework
(3) Final report
In order to finish the homework, students will need to use programming software such as Matlab or Octave. Thus, having basic skills in operating these software are strongly encouraged when sign-up this course.
