課程概述 |
This course provides a thorough introduction to the theoretical framework and the basic methodological concerns of developmental psychology to give graduate students an overview of the history as well as the cutting-edge trends in developmental science. Different areas of research in developmental psychology will also be introduced with in-depth discussion. |
課程目標 |
一、學習專業領域知識:複習發展心理學領域的理論、研究、與方法學,並瞭解這些知識如何運用於實徵研究中
二、練習萃取學術論文中的重點,並練習批判與創新:每週閱讀與批判最新發表的發展心理學論文,並練習以學術寫作完整表達自己的學術意見(註:本課程為研究所墊基課程,每週的寫作作業禁止以AI撰寫或修改,請呈現自己思考與寫作實力的原貌,老師才能協助大家修正概念與調整學術寫作的習慣。一旦被發現透過AI修改,後果由學生自負。)
三、比較與批判不同的發展心理學學說或理論,進而創立新觀念或新理論:以每週作業與上課討論,鼓勵同學練習比較、批判、與創新
四、以最新發表於頂級學術期刊中的發展心理學研究論文,幫助修課學生洞察發展心理學學術發展(理論、研究設計、方法學)的最新趨勢

課程要求 |
a. Weekly reading assignment: At least 3 articles per week
b. Weekly Written Essay: About 600-800 words (double-spaced) per essay. Each essay could either be a theoretical or methodological critique of one of the assigned articles or a new idea inspired by one or more of the assigned articles. However, unless you can give a good reason, just looking at the biological basis of the findings in the assigned articles or if the same findings can apply to a different age group does not count as a “new idea.”
c. In-class performance: (20%): Answering questions, raising interesting ideas, integrating issues from different articles, and class attendance
