課程概述	this course will focus on: ※understanding the relationship between social theory and methods ※developing an ethical stance in social science research ※recognizing the ontological status of research methods vis‐à‐vis different kinds of data. ※understanding how theory and method affect the collection and analysis of data ※developing practical skills to apply toward the collection, analysis, and presentation of sociological data.
課程目標	本課程主要是提供社會科學研究的方法論、理論、研究法、資料分析三層次關係之介紹與演練，特別是著重質性研究法之各種取向、論述、資料分析、及報告撰寫等。 This course will provide an introduction to the relationship among methodology, theory and research method and data collection with analysis as it pertains to social science research. Rather than providing detailed training in specific research methods, we will develop your understanding of the ontological status of social phenomena generally.
課程要求	第一回合修課同學輪流閱讀及報告，老師帶領討論，期中考後，每位同學根據自己的研究興趣，選擇一個質性研究主題，嘗試做一個質性小研究並上台報告。期末會有一個開書撰寫的申論題。（英） According to syllabus, each student is required to leading discussion in selected topics and doing a small qualitative research. Finally, a take- home test is assessed.
