課程概述 |
本課程設定為大學部中高級與研究所入門課程,培養學生從量體研究的角度, 理論性分析當代新型態的環境議題。這一堂課將從 verticality/vertical and volume/volumetic 等核心概念,探討大氣技術、空氣污染、毒氣、海洋生態與技術、地底、地球工程等經驗現象,期待學生可以進一步探究以往地理學忽略的垂直與量體現象,並發展空氣、海洋與地質等環境議題。
課程設計上,除先探討物質轉向量體的地緣政治與量體地理學的認識論與方法論,以及如何執行垂直與量體研究,另外也聚焦在非地域思考下的新地緣政治議題,涵蓋地底、大氣、地球工程、海洋、極地等地表以上/以下的地理環境,所涉及之領土與治理課題。這樣的課程設計,希冀促成學生對於地理學想像的延伸,關注地表以上/以下的領土與環境課題。

課程目標 |
1. 閱讀並掌握當前量體研究的發展過程與經典研究
2. 熟悉量體地理學研究方法與應用
3. 具體個案之研究與量體視角之應用 |
課程要求 |
1. 每周作業 (45%),針對每周三篇讀本,分選其中一篇, (1) 深入五百字列點摘要,並且 (2) 找尋各自文章 (中文英文不限) 相關新聞事件 (請貼全文與新聞連結),並且 (3) 進行評析 (300-500字),以及 (4) 課後將該周上課自我反思整理。請大家從第二周開始繳交每周作業,其中前三項是在上課前兩天晚上 23 點前完成,第四項於上課後兩天 23 點前完成。作業一律上傳到 CEIBA 討論區。
2. 15%是課程參與,除了踴躍發言,有料批評 (7.5%),從第三周起,每周三篇文章,分別有三個同學各自負責導讀評析與紀錄 (7.5 %),內容包括作者介紹、文章背景、文章重點,並彙整同學整理之新聞與摘要,提出有意義發問,導讀者在課後將討論做成 2000 字左右的報導。輪值的同學當周不用交該篇文章摘要。碩士班優先輪第二次。
3. 期末報告 :量體重要學者介紹(40%),挑選一個量體相關的學者,進行該作者之文獻閱讀,並針對該學者之研究發展歷程、所提出之重要概念,進行理論回顧。
4. 加分作業 (10%),每周作業繳交一份以上的文章反思(如前所述,包括列點摘要、相關新聞事件、評析等)。每多一份則酌量加 1-3%。
5. 加分作業 (10%),將上課反思投稿 (論理力、新聞感、即時性),或針對相關專書,結合上課文獻以書評格式投稿。將知識與現實進一步對話,用文來參與社會變遷。
6. 加分作業 (10%),針對垂直與量體地理撰寫研究計畫書,研究所同學 15,000字字,大學高年級同學,比照科技部大專生格式。 |
