課程概述 |
Course Description:
This course will first introduce the basic concepts of numerical methods, such as finite difference, computational stability, time- and space-differencing, and spectral method, which are the key components for the class of Numerical Weather Prediction(NWP). The commonly-used community mesoscale model, the WRF (Weather Research and Forecast) model, will be discussed. Students taking this course are required to write their own codes (in Python, Matlab, or Fortran) to do the homework and exam problems, and solutions to the assigned coding problems will be discussed in class. |
