This is a course intended for students with basic knowledge of geophysical fluid dynamics. This seminar, we will discuss four topics: Coastal dynamics, Mixed layer processes, Western boundary currents (Kuroshio), and Internal waves. The instructor will provide 2-3 “classical” papers for each topic. Students will select a topic of his/her own interest and will present the progress of the chosen topic. The class is mainly in the form of discussion.
